Jesse White Learning Academy Greetings to all: Welcome to a new and exciting 2016-2017 school year. As you may know we have two brand new Pre K- 8 school facilities in the Hazel Crest School District. During the upcoming year, we would like to see all stakeholders come together and join us as we become united in engaging students while assisting them to develop attributes related to appropriate moral and social behavior. We invite the community to come out and become part of the Fearless Phenomenal Wildcats Team!!!! We look forward to your voice and participation as we make this a highly productive school year.
I am privileged to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal at Jesse White Learning Academy. I have had several years of experience in the district as a teacher. My years of experience has given me an opportunity to not only develop relationships with students, parents and staff but enhance my knowledge about the needs of students academically and emotionally. I have taught, counseled and motivated students during my teaching tenure. My goal as Assistant Principal is to assist in producing a school-wide culture that is productive and conducive to learning. Being a huge advocate of positive reinforcement, I will implement a behavior system rich in incentives, but with fair and assertive consequences as deemed necessary. We would like students to become responsible for their own individual behavior and become a part of the daily plan to make decisions about a school discipline plan that will allow them to become effective and productive citizens in a diverse society. My educational philosophy stands on the premise that all children can learn regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. Highlighting, showcasing, and celebrating student success is at the root of this philosophy. When children are rewarded for their accomplishments and achievements it provides an inner-confidence that takes them to new heights. If we teach them to be good, they will learn how to be great. I am excited to begin a new chapter at Jesse White Learning Academy and look forward to the start of the school year.
Sincerely, Andrew A. Martin

My name is Chappel Billings, and it is with great pride and zeal that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed assistant principal at Jesse White Learning Academy. I am a passionate educator looking forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rich, engaging and rigorous school experience. Before joining JWLA, I served in a variety of educational and leaderships roles, for the past 15 years. My education background includes a Master of Arts in School leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education.
I decided to become a school administrator because I am passionate about making a positive impact on an entire school community. I will work tirelessly with Principal Dr. Jason Streeter and Assistant Principal Andrew Martin to build positive relationships and a welcoming environment for all. I believe that great teachers are vital to ensure that every student receives high quality instruction. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families as assistant principal.
It is truly an honor to be a part of the JWLA family. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to share.
